Treatments You Can Do at Home for Stretch Marks

Even in men, the appearance of stretch marks (also known as striae) is not uncommon.

There are a few different hypotheses floating about, but nobody really knows how they come to be.

STRETCH MARKS

The first explanation is that stretch marks are just scars that emerge when the skin is stretched to the point where it breaks and a scar is produced.

There is also the intriguing hypothesis that stretch marks are brought on by an elevated amount of glucocorticoids in the body (cortisol).

Because of the effects of glucocorticoids, connective tissues are unable to produce the collagen and elastin fibers that are necessary to maintain the skin’s elasticity, which results in the dermal layer becoming damaged.

It’s possible that certain people’s genes make them more prone to getting stretch marks than others.

It’s possible that your skin type plays a role: oily skin is more elastic than dry skin, thus dry skin is more likely to show stretch marks.

TREATING STRETCH MARKS

You may minimize the appearance of stretch marks by taking additional measures, of which there are numerous.

Think about your routine for caring for your skin, and adjust it so that it can address the demands of skin that has been injured and requires cellular repair as well as the stimulation of collagen and elastin synthesis.

Nutrition: Your skin must have access to a sufficient amount of water, vitamins E and C, selenium, and alpha lipoic acid, as well as enough monounsaturated fats (olive oil) and gamma lineolic acid (borage oil) in order to remain robust, healthy, and capable of mending itself. Borage oil contains gamma lineolic acid.

The most fundamental approach to minimizing the visibility of scars involves

1) routinely removing the hypertrophied scar tissue with a vigorous exfoliation and then

2) promoting the regrowth of normal tissues with the application of nutrients and conditioners.

These two steps should be repeated on a consistent basis.

If you have stretch marks due of weight gain, lowering your body fat storage (which means losing weight) will help lessen the appearance of stretch marks by removing pressure from the skin, which caused the stretch marks in the first place.

Stretch marks are similar to scars in that they can be caused by either a buildup of scar tissue, which results in a raised stretch mark, or ripping and apparent depressions in the skin. Exfoliation can help treat both types of stretch marks.

Exfoliation, whether it be chemical or mechanical, can be quite helpful in reducing the appearance of stretch marks. Your objective is to break down the abnormal collagen and cause it to slough off, all the while new collagen and skin cells are being generated below it that have been made correctly.

You should try to give the stretch marks at least a little exfoliation every day in order to minimize their appearance. Scar tissue can be broken down more effectively with the use of a massage tool.

It has been demonstrated that using alpha hydroxy peel products, such as retinol, glycolic acid, or lactic acid, is an effective method for reducing the appearance of stretch marks.

After you have exfoliated your skin, use an antioxidant cream that contains vitamins A, E, and C as well as alpha lipoic acid to prevent the new skin cells from being damaged.

Applying sunscreen to skin before exposing it to the sun helps stop the breakdown of freshly created skin cells and protects the skin from further damage.

Moisturizer: After using antioxidants and exfoliating the skin, the next step is to moisturize the region in its entirety.

It is important to remember to moisturize your body skin on a daily basis if you are predisposed to acquiring stretch marks in order to reduce the risk of developing further stretch marks when your weight fluctuates.

To enhance the skin’s microcirculation, Aloe Vera should be applied, and then a layer of lipid-based cream or lotion should be applied on top of it.

Alternative Therapies:

Sleep: Get lots of sleep to help your skin repair.

Milk Bath: You may give your complete body a dip in lactic acid, which is known to soften the skin, by adding a cup or two of skin milk powder to your bath water, and then soaking for 15 to 20 minutes, several times each week.

To make the experience even more pleasurable, put a few drops of your preferred fragrance in the tub. The milk bath should be removed under the shower, but soap should not be used.

Before getting into your milk bath, you should take a fast shower using a gentle soap if you’ve been working up a sweat or if you’re really dirty. After that, properly moisturize the skin all over your body.

You may make your own tinctures and lotions, or you can hunt for commercial goods that have substances that are recognized to enhance the appearance of stretch marks and find them.

It is possible to lessen and even eliminate the appearance of stretch marks with a little bit of hard work and persistence.
